TWO SPIRIT PROGRAMMER
BATC - ATOWESKIN SUCCESS CENTRE
ONE (1) FULL-TIME PERMANENT POSITION
(CONTRACT – FOR TWO SUMMERS)
KEY OBJECTIVES: Oversees the Pekiwewin - The Act of Coming Home Program. As part of the Employment & Training team, and under the direct supervisor of the Director of Employment & Training, the Program Manager will devise a training strategy, oversee its implementation and assess its outcomes. You will identify programming, resource creation and delivering a culture camp. Working with nations elders and knowledge keepers to bring forth cultural activities.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and deliver a 2 Spirit Culture Camp (Summer of 2025 and 2026)
- Create resources on 2 Spirit education for our communities
- Work with elders and knowledge keepers for cultural programming
- Data collection/Surveys
- Oversee and deliver various programming for our nations and urban settings
- Responsible for working effectively and collaboratively with our nations and local organizations.
- Maintain fiscal integrity and accountability of the organizational budget and financial statements promptly.
- Other tasks assigned by Director
REQUIREMENTS
The 2 Spirit Programmer, during administration of programs, services and projects collects a great deal of personal information about the members and Clients. Every person has the right to expect that this information will be protected and will not be shared with others without the expressed consent of the client or community member.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The 2 Spirit Programmer will develop positive working relationships with the Assessment Team, Project Manager, Income Assistance Administrators, and BATC Staff. Build and link to outside services for the client success, such as SITAG, Urban SITAG, Kanawayimik, BRT6HS, Victim Services, Justice Programs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Proven work experience as a Program Manager.
- Track record in designing and executing successful programming
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations etc.)
- Experience in case management, Negotiating and proposal writing
- Strong writing and record keeping ability for reports and training manuals
- Proficient in excel, word, power point and database knowledge
- Knowledge of BATC Employment & Training and AANDC policies, structures, procedures, services, goal, and objectives (Strategic Plan)
- Ability to analyze and interpret findings, and concisely summarize
