BATC Star Children Project - Calling IRS Survivors

Tansi, my name is Norma Pewapisconias, and I am honored to step into the role of BATC IRS Manager. I will be hitting the ground running with the launch of the BATC Legacy Project, an initiative dedicated to capturing the stories of Indian Residential School (IRS) Survivors who attended prior to 1970. Through these interviews, we will aim to commemorate their resilience, educate future generations, and continue to hold Canada accountable for the historical atrocities our people have endured and survived.

This work is deeply personal and necessary for truth, healing, and justice. I am grateful to have Christina Albert and Chuckie Nicotine as part of the team, and together we will ensure these voices are heard and preserved for generations to come.

I look forward to working alongside our communities in this important journey.
